I previously served as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Cornish College of the Arts and co-chaired seven major galas, helping raise millions of dollars for my alma mater. Founded over 114 years ago, Cornish is the preeminent arts institution of the Pacific Northwest, with alumni who have shaped national and international culture across film, music, visual art, and dance.
Cornish graduates include Academy Award–winning actor Brendan Fraser, honored for The Whale, and four-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood for Best Costume Design (Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, Alice in Wonderland, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them). Historically, the school produced the four great Northwest “Mystic Painters”—Mark Tobey, Guy Anderson, Morris Graves, and Kenneth Callahan—as well as legendary artists Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham, widely regarded as the father of modern dance. Influential composer and Fluxus movement pioneer John Cage is also a Cornish alum.
The legacy of Cornish is long, distinguished, and globally recognized.
